View Article  Exam appeals: "An headache, hayfever, or a dead pet goldfish, can provide grounds for appeal."
This BBC news story gives details of some grounds for appeal at A-Level. For example, if you have an headache on the day of the exam you may have grounds for appeal (a medical letter would assist). Likewise, a problem with temporary hayfever (even a pet goldfish dying) could also provide grounds for appeal. Appeals must be made within a week of the exam (See Mick Hook).

Last year there were more than 300,000 appeals.
